Chart notes
MOON MIST hopped at the start, rushed up to dispute the early pace with COFFEE KISSES, came into the stretch on the left lead, got the better of that rival by mid-stretch then battled with JUST A COED through the final furlong, had a head in front near the finish and could not be separated from that foe at the wire. JUST A COED broke well and stalked three wide, bid three wide passing the quarter pole and engaged in a head-to-head battle with MOON MIST to the finish and hit the wire in sync with that foe to share the top prize. COFFEE KISSES broke on top then dueled with MOON MIST through the early stages, battled gamely on the inside as JUST A COED joined the fray late on the turn, weakened in the final furlong but finished well clear of the next horse. COMPENDIUM was a bit slow to get into stride and was last from the break, improved position down the backstretch then bid three wide into the stretch but lacked a winning kick. BARBANERA tracked four wide down the backstretch, then bid four wide on the turn then struggled to keep up passing the quarter pole and was outkicked in the stretch. CIRCA STAR was up with the pack through the initial stages then started to lose ground before the turn, chased the rest of the way and was not a factor. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY IN THE STRETCH RUN. AFTER A REVIEW NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
