Chart notes
JACK'S PROMISE pressed two wide, bid and sparked a duel in upper stretch then edged ahead in the final sixteenth. ART FAIR showed the way along the inside as the eventual applied outside pressure into and around the turn, dug in to spar with that one in upper stretch, battled gamely through midstretch, but flopped back to his left lead at the sixteenth pole and got bested. COVERT LAW pursued from midpack, advanced two wide and between rivals with the three furlong pole, chased the pulling-away top pair from the three path in upper stretch and kept on willingly. MAGNUM FORCE stalked along the inside, chased in upper stretch and gave way. SPRINT OUT PASS broke slowly, raced well off of the pace in the two path, moved out to the four path into the lane and stayed on one paced. MO HAIR SAM was slow into stride, saved ground far back to no avail. PIQUANT broke a step slow, trailed in the three to two path, advanced between rivals with five sixteenths to go, fanned out to the five path into the lane and failed to factor. SOUTH BEND TOM pursued from the four to five path and tired. FARLEY HALL stalked two wide and behind the top pair, shifted outside of them approaching the turn, chased in the three to four path around the bend and weakened turning for home.
