Chart notes
WAR CHEST was last on to the main course despite some coaxing from the rider, chased from far back to the half, was under a ride passing the three furlong marker then circled the field five wide on the far turn under urging, came six wide into the stretch with good momentum and finished well under steady handling, won going away. SWAMPDRAINER allowed to settle from the break and raced near the back of the second flight, launched a three wide bid with three furlongs to run, then swung five wide into the stretch, dueled briefly with WAR CHEST in upper stretch but could not match strides, kept on to save the place. CLUB MESQUITE settled behind early, three wide through the first turn, moved up to track mid-pack down the backstretch, became boxed in late on the far turn, the steadied in traffic in upper stretch, ran on from that point but was too late. THIRTY SECONDS OUT was guided forward from the break, went two to three wide through the first turn then raced in cover close up to the far turn, was boxed in most of the far turn, bid four wide into the stretch and finished up well but was outkicked by the winner. AQUACAT settled mid-pack to the far turn, bided time then swung out to the three path, was blocked in upper stretch, altered course to the outside passed some tired ones in the stretch. GO SPEED RACER GO pressed the pace set by STORMIN GALILEO througout, took over leaving the quarter pole, but faltered mid-stretch and was outfinished. SHUT UP MICHAEL (IRE) showed good speed from the break without being pushed, staked three wide through the middle stages then ranged up four wide on the last turn, and finished evenly in the stretch while never posing a serious threat. RAILWAY was away well and vied three wide through the first bend then was taken back on the rail and rated behind the pace, bided time inside to the far turn then waited for room, came up the rail but could not find the needed response in the stretch. STORMIN GALILEO was sent from the break, seized the early lead before turning on to the main course, set a pressured pace to the far turn and gave way in the stretch.
