Chart notes
GONE GREY got away well, stalked THATSWHATIMHEREFOR through the early stages, moved to challenge approaching the quarter pole, dueled briefly in upper stretch then pulled clear late and won clear. THATSWHATIMHEREFOR sped to the front from the break, drifted to the three path on the turn then gave way in mid-stretch while holding second well ahead of the next finisher. CROCKETT settled three to four wide early, moved to the rail for the run through the turn, then ran on under steady urging and got the show despite racing on the left lead for much of the stretch run. REGARDING HARRY got to the rail then tracked mid-pack to the turn, went into a drive from the quarter pole, had some trouble keeping a straight course but improved some in the stretch. THATWOULDBEWRONG lacked early speed and was far back of the rest in the early stages with only FANCY DANCER behind, was going nowhere turning for home then suddenly found best ride and ran on with good energy through the last furlong. FANCY DANCER was the distant trailer to the turn and passed tiring rivals in the lane. LORD ANTHEM broke well, saved ground to the stretch, was always close up then faltered in the lane. EMPIRE WARRIOR tracked three wide in the middle of the strung out field and lacked a finish. BAKERSFIELD AFFAIR broke awkwardly and spotted the field a head start, advanced steadily down the backstretch, loomed three wide on the turn, then tired in the stretch while racing on the wrong lead.
