JOLIE RULER was hustled away from the gate but unable to contest the early lead, tracked the early duel from well back through the turn, drifted a couple of paths wide on the turn then finished with good energy, took aim on the tiring leaders and was up in the final yards. DIXIE PENNY took a light bump from MY LADY SLEW at the break, tracked mid-pack down the backstretch then was left with a lot of ground to make up as the field turn into the stretch, kept on under steady handling and split tiring foes late to just miss. A REAL HERO chased three to four wide through the early stages, was kept to task as the leading pair quickened away from the rest, came four wide into the stretch and surged late as the leader shortened strides but came up short. SMILE AT THE STORM dueled MY LADY SLEW early then went clear late on the turn, came into the stretch with a clear lead, started to shorten strides mid-stretch and was overtaken in the final yards. MY LADY SLEW was sent from the break, dueled with SMILE AT THE STORM into the turn, then was unable to keep up late on the turn, hung on to mid-stretch then was overtaken late. AWESOME SUNDAY lacked any early speed and was near the back down the backstretch, launched a five wide bid on the turn and finished willingly but could not make an impact. HEAVENLY HASH was slow into stride, spotted the field a head start and chased throughout. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
