Chart notes
LAND MARK DEAL had good speed from the outside was caught four wide going into the first turn but dropped in to the inside when clear, tracked close up to the far turn, launched a bid approaching the three furlong pole, got a good inside run through the turn then dueled with WILDWOOD'S WARRIOR through the stretch, edged ahead late and held to the wire. WILDWOOD'S WARRIOR contested the early pace from between horses on the first turn, settled in a tracking position two wide down the backstretch, got shuffled back before the half mile marker, then launched a bit through the far turn, bid three wide at the quarter pole, battled LAND MARK DEAL with a head in front through the stretch, lost the lead late and had to settle for second. U S HONOUR NAP was coaxed from the break to no avail, was last into the turn then advanced two to three wide down the backstretch, put a head in front wit three furlongs to run then was taken on by WILDWOOD'S HONOR nearing the quarter pole, gave way readily and was kept to task to hold third. GITA'S LAD was first to the turn without really being asked then ceded the lead down the backstretch, became boxed in on the far turn then was unable to find the needed response once clear. PLAIN OR PEANUT did not show speed and settled two wide near the rear through the early stages though not far back in the compact field, dropped to last on the far turn then was kept to task, produced a grinding finish to pass a couple of tired rivals in the late stages. WHERE'D THE DAY GO was not asked for speed and settled inside at the back early, lacked a finish and was unable to improve late. FLYING SAMURAI vied three wide through the first turn then took over the lead turning onto the backstretch, tried to dig in when challenged by US HONOR NAP at the head of the far turn but was unable to go on and was not a factor in the late stages. THE HALF MILE TIME WAS HAND-TIMED DUE TO AN EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION.
