Chart notes
MISS SAIPAN was sent from the break and made the early running with ANNIE'S HOPE always in close attendance, left that rival behind turning into the stretch, went clear under steady handling and held safe from an inside bid in the final yards. CRYSTAL SNOW was not asked for speed from the break and allowed to settle on the rail, was in tight near the five furlong pole then steadied again a half furlong later, altered course to the two path into the turn, advanced on the leaders and finished well under strong handling and intermittent urging, could not get to the winner but finished well clear of the next horse. ANNIE'S HOPE broke out a bit the start then was hustled to join MISS SAIPAN on the lead, pressed that one through to the turn, had trouble with the lead change into the stretch and faltered. BABAS GAL was hustled from the break but unable to join the early pace battle, raced inside mid-pack through the turn then lacked a closing bid. FOREVER BLESSED was outrun early, tracked three wide, made a mild middle-race move but could not sustain the bid into the stretch. SEQUAYA last to break, dropped far behind early and trailed throughout.
