Chart notes
LITTLE STEVEN was coaxed from the gate to get forward position, was joined by GRAND ILLUSION on the clubhouse turn and together went well clear of the others, passed the quarter pole still together but pulled away from that foe in the stretch, pulled clear and held sway to the finish. MOONRISE DRIVE raced in the middle of the spread out field for six furlongs, kept to task in the stretch and outlasted the rest of the field for the place. DAPPER DUDE got put in right a few strides after the break, shuffled back and trailed early, shifted out a path for the run down the backstretch, was asked to pick up the pace leaving the seven-sixteenths pole, bid three wide around the far turn came four wide into the stretch and produced a grinding finish and slow steady gain to grab the third spot. GRAND ILLUSION came away well and settled to the outside of LITTLE STEVEN, went clear of the rest through tepid fractions then started to weaken leaving the quarter pole and was unable to hold on for a minor award. MOVE IN SILENCE settled outside of the tracking pair well behind the leaders then had little to offer in the stretch. TIE BREAKER LENNIE lacked speed and raced near the rear of the field through the early stages, saved ground and came under pressure on the turn but could not produce a rally.
