Chart notes
JIN TONG unhurried early, came under a ride early and steadily advanced down the backstretch and through the turn, came five wide into the stretch found best stride in mid-stretch and just got up in the final jumps. POVERTY BAY pulled close early into traffic then shuffled back and switched out a path down near the half mile pole, bid four wide into the stretch under a drive, finished with good energy under steady handling and intermittent urging, collared the dueling leaders but got tagged at the wire by the winner. PLANE TALK broke well, dueled with JOE DON LOONEY setting fast fractions, could not shake that foe and battled all the way to the finish then was outkicked by the top two in the shadow of the wire. JOE DON LOONEY hustled from the break, dueled with PLANE TALK through rapid fractions through the turn, pulled clear with that rival into the stretch, battled gamely to the wire but was passed in the final yards. JAIME'S COMMITMENT broke well, ceded lead into turn, tracked close up into the turn then came under pressure from the five-sixteenths, was kept to task and was gaining on the leaders in the end. GOLDEN ALE lagged early, saved ground and kept to task in the late stages but was never a factor. SAWASDEE broke a step slow, rushed up into contention four wide from the break, made a mild bid three wide through the turn then tired in the stretch.
