NATURE'S CANDY set the pace racing with a clear lead, pulled a bit on the first turn, showed the way under confident handling, responded when challenged on the far turn, pulled away, widened under mild urging and was in hand the final yards. GIRVINIZED stalked two wide, chased three wide into the far turn, made a bid, then dug in gamely in the stretch and well clear for place honors. TRUE PHENOMENON raced off the pace inside, made a mild bid entering the far turn, then chased inside and weakened. NOISY ON THE BAY tracked on the inside, then chased and gave way. THEARCHERORTHEPREY broke a step slow, raced three wide early, settled off the pace and was outrun.
