Chart notes
CUPID'S WAR close up in the early going, went up and pressed the pace outside of FINDAWAY into the turn, dueled that runner through decent fractions approaching the quarter marker, battled through the lane with FINDAWAY while on even terms with that one past mid-stretch, shook free into the final sixteenth then edged clear late. FINDAWAY broke sharply, showed good speed and set the pace from the inside into the turn, was confronted by CUPID'S WAR into the bend then dueled inside of that rival into upper stretch, fought gamely through the lane, grudgingly gave way in deep stretch and was well clear of the rest for second. ANCIENT MAN bobbled and was slow away from the start, saved ground while trailing into the turn, saved all of the ground to upper stretch then advanced at the furlong marker, flattened out in the stages but stayed on well to earn the show honors. CHAMPAGNE MIKE took back to track the early pace from the inside, shifted out then chased three wide into upper stretch, lacked a response in the lane and gave way. I'M YOUR CAPTAIN tracked the early pace from the outside, went two to three wide nearing the quarter marker, chased four wide into upper stretch, could not keep pace at the furlong grounds and tired late.
