Chart notes
EMPIRE'S BEST showed good early speed, assumed command then set the pace from the rail into the turn, kicked clear at the quarter pole then drew off into the upper stretch, was ridden out in the lane and won as much the best. GOLDEN REBAL pressed the early pace outside of EMPIRE'S BEST, chased the pacesetter into the turn, was no match for the winner into the stretch, stayed on into the final sixteenth and outfinished the rest for second. GALACTIC CORE close up in the early stages, took back and settled two wide into the turn, saved ground to the stretch then angled out at the furlong marker and ran on in deep stretch to earn the show honors. MASTER OF DISGUISE tracked the early pace three wide and from between runners, got shuffled a bit along the turn then shifted to the rail nearing the top of the lane, chased the winner through the stretch and was outfinished for the minor awards. STORMS LAST broke out then was bumped at the start and was away slowly from the gate, settled then saved ground into the turn, spun two wide into upper stretch and was not a late factor. SLICK COUNTRY BOY tracked the early pace while widest up the backstretch, chased five to six wide to the quarter marker, was outrun to the stretch and came up empty in the late stages. ELUSIVE POWER tracked the early pace four wide and between runners, chased into the turn, could not keep pace into upper stretch and tired in the drive. This race was originally hand timed and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time available.
