HOUSE BOURBON had good speed from the outside and secured the lead and the rail on the first turn, dueled with CALICOCO through the early stages, then took over the solo lead after the half, tried to open up through the far turn but could only maintain the margin, came into the stretch with the lead, responded when set down at the top of the stretch, finished up well under strong handling and intermittent urging to hold off an inside and outside challenge late while drifting out some in the late stages while in an all-out drive. GOOD AND STOUT raced near the rear through the first turn then advanced down the backstretch, rallied under strong handling through the turn, sustained the run into the stretch and just missed. SONYA KNOWS BETTER tracked the duel close up inside, bid between poles on the far turn, then tipped out to the four path for the stretch run, gamely chased the winner, then had to steady in the final yards. JEFFROW was allowed to settle near the back through the early going, launched a bid with about three furlongs to run tipped out to the four path and was slowly gaining ground late but ran out of time. MANGUM was forwardly placed three wide through the clubhouse turn, tracked close up down the backstretch, bid three wide into the lane and finished willingly but could not quite do enough to threaten for the top prize. UP N GONE unhurried early, angled over to the rail, settled at the back to the far turn, came three wide into the stretch, angled to the inside in upper stretch and finished with some late interest but was never a serious threat. COURT JESTER was put in tight right after the start, settled near the back saved ground through the far turn then was unable to produce a rally. CALICOCO was sent with intent to get the lead, drifted out about three paths before the turn, hooked up with HOUSE BOURBON midway on the first turn the dueled with that foe down the backstretch, conceded the lead after passing the half-mile pole, came under a stiff drive on the far turn then tired in the stretch. MACHO BEANIE was forwardly placed from the break then took up before the first turn, settled in the middle of the pack down the backstretch, did not respond when asked to go on from the half, faded to the back of the back on the turn and had nothing to offer in the stretch. THE RIDER ON #SONYA KNOWS BETTER LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST #9 HOUSE BOURBON ALLEGING INTERFERENCE NEAR THE FINISH LINE. AFTER A REVIEW THE THE OBJECTION WAS DISALLOWED AND THE ORIGINAL ORDER OF FINISH WAS MADE OFFICIAL.
