THE BLACK STRAT was urged from the start, cleared and shifted in to set the pace inside, extended the advantage on the far turn into upper stretch, held safe while being kept to the task. ATHENS MOON was lightly bumped into a rival at the start, settled off the pace near but off the rail, moved out and went three to four wide on the far turn, came out eight wide for the drive, kept on outside to get up for place. WELLSWORT (IRE) was bumped lightly into a rival at the start, in a bit tight heading into the first turn, saved ground on that bend, continued near then just off the inside on the far turn, angled seven wide in upper stretch, was outfinished for place. THREEBROTHERS settled off the leaders outside three to four wide, took aim at the clear leader under urging at the top of the stretch but had no rally and went evenly in the stretch. TRANCHE broke a step slowly and in tight, settled at the back, came out nine wide for the drive and passed rivals. APOLLO RISING was three to four wide through both turns, was within reasonable range coming past the quarter pole but weakened in the stretch. MY CAIRO KID broke inwardly, was in the back half of the field throughout racing off the inside and never near enough to threaten. MONGOLIAN MEMORY was bumped at the start, chased not too far off the leaders racing two to four wide throughout, was never a threat. PURE CANE SUGAR raced well back just off the rail and made no impact. LIBERAL (IRE) was toward the rear near inside, swung nine deep coming into upper stretch, was not a factor. NOLONGERAHOBBY bumped a rival at the start, was in tight along the rail and switched out in the early going, chased the pace of the eventual winner, came up empty. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
