Chart notes
THOMPSON stalked the dueling leaders while saving ground at the rail in the run down the backstretch, rallied smartly from just off the rail entering the final turn, shifted three wide leaving the turn from between rivals, and finished determinedly two out from the rail in the drive to prove best. BUCK'S FIZZ away well and stalked the leaders into the backstretch while racing two out from the rail, rallied four wide through the final turn, and closed willingly three out from the rail in the drive to prove clearly second best. STANFORD NORTH away alertly and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, set a pressured pace from the inside of RICK'S DANCER in the run down the backside and through the final turn, was collared leaving the turn, and faded late. RICK'S DANCER broke sharply and dueled for the lead two wide entering the first turn, forced the pace from the outside of STANFORD NORTH in the run down the backside and through the final turn, but weakened in the stretch drive. LOGICAL AL was slow into stride and trailed the field into the first turn, was always well back, and failed to make a serious late impact.
