Chart notes
DIXIE PENNY away well, pressed the pace from the inside, then steadied near the seven-sixteenths, lost ground, came back on under a drive, swung four wide into the stretch, had a little trouble with the lead change then leveled out and finished best to claim the top prize. SHIP IT hustled from the break, pressed LOST SUNSET into the turn, was set down and tipped three wide past the quarter pole then finished up well under strong handing but had to settle for second best. LOST SUNSET broke well, led the way into the turn rating well, kicked on when challenged by GO STORMIN GIRL at the quarter pole, went a length clear but could not hold off a pair of challengers in the final yards. GO STORMIN GIRL tracked behind the leaders four wide made a middle move to gain contention then had aim on LOST SUNSET approaching the quarter pole, could not reel in that rival and flattened out late. MISS SAIPAN brushed with FIT AND FAMOUS at the start, settled mid-pack in the initial stages then made a forward move to press the leaders going to the seven-sixteenths marker, took back, lost momentum then struggled to make up the lost ground in the stretch. FIT AND FAMOUS got squeezed at the start then raced near the back of the main pack to the turn, kept to the inside then had little to offer in the stretch. FANCY HILL broke in and made contact with FIT AND FAMOUS, the steadied early while dropping back from tight quarters near the rail, moved away from the rail, chased the field into the turn, made a mild bid from the three-furlong marker but was unable to sustain into the stretch and was never a threat.
