Chart notes
SUNSET FOR SANDRA grabbed the lead soon after the start, continued to lead the way by a slim margin leaving the backstretch, took on the challenge of DIXIE SUPRISE near the quarter pole, saved ground turning for home, shook free to a slim lead, fought on gamely, turned back bids along the rail down the lane and prevailed under a driving finish. GLAD VON D tracked the early pace, moved up to race in striking distance near the quarter pole, sustained three wide bid down the lane, dug in gamely but could not reach the tenacious winner. DIXIE SURPRISE raced up close just off the early leader, vied with eventual winner late on the turn, remained in aim for the lead two wide past the furlong marker then yielded late. DANCING EMBER settled in opening stages, was ridden along three wide around the turn, swung four paths wide into the stretch and lacked a needed rally. EVENTUALITY raced off the pace, swung wide into the drive and had no response. MORNING GLORY GOLD raced up close in early stages, gave way midway around the turn and continued to tire in the drive. LILLY OF PRINCE failed to move into contention. E. L.'S LEGACY trailed throughout.
