Chart notes
AWESOME EMPIRE was off slowly when brushing the outside of the gate at the start, improved along the backside to be nestled on the fence watching the lead pair at the half, waited for the cue to move on the rail behind the leaders on the turn, shifted out to bid five wide at the top of the lane and wore down the early speed foes in the stretch to pull away late for the victory. DARK DANGER broke out but was quickly corrected to press on the rail in the early going, dueled inside up front through the turn, had a slim advantage clinging to the lead inside rivals at the eighth pole but could not fend off the winner who had an ideal set up in the race. GOTME GOOD had a slim lead on the outside in the beginning, battled outside for the top spot around the turn, fought on determined with runners on either side in the two path in mid-stretch but in the end could not go with the front pair late and managed to save the show award at the wire. HOLIDAY SNOOZE travelled outside stalking the leaders, began to mount a rally going around foes three wide with a quarter mile to run, angled out widest in the six path at the top of the stretch and finished up mildly to inch up on the outside late to be a fringe player. SPIRITUAL MAN had an inside stalking position ahead of one runner down the back straight, made little headway saving ground on the turn and finished up evenly on the rail to the wire posing little threat in the late stages. LAST RIDE broke a step slow trailing the field along the backside, could not get into contention running around the turn and managed to pass a weary straggler in the final furlong. YOU AND ME BABY sat outside, watching the contesting duo down the back straight, was scrubbed on for more but was regressing outside at the quarter pole, had little left for the drive and stopped in mid-stretch.
