JOKESTAR was allowed to settle two wide around the first turn, crept closer late on the backstretch, moved up to engage ZATARA for the lead approaching the quarter pole, vied two wide into the upper stretch, held a slight lead at the furlong marker, edged ahead under steady urging and finished clear. ZATARA led the way around the first turn and continued to set the pace up the backstretch, took on the challenge from JOKESTAR near the quarter pole, fought back gamely along the inside past the furlong marker then failed to match and settled for a clearly second best. BROWNSTONE was unhurried and raced in the back, picked up the pace three wide mid-way around the far turn, came four paths wide into the upper stretch, ran on and secured a share. UXMAL stalked up the backstretch, chased inside around the final turn, kept on along the rail in the lane into the lane and gave way. MEDIMPACT was forwardly placed racing under a snug hold in early stages, failed to advance under a ride nearing the quarter pole and weakened in the lane.
