Chart notes
MASHHAD FLATS was reserved off the pace, moved up five-wide nearing the quarter pole, took the lead coming to the eighth pole and maintained a safe advantage. HICKORY WIND was unhurried early, came six-wide into the stretch and finished stroingly. ARTEMUS GORDON was close-up while racing two-wide, lacked room nearing the quarter pole, angled out to be four-wide coming to the three-sixteenths pole and finished in a mild rally. HOT JOURNEY was forwardly placed while racing four-wide, but lacked a rally. OLD TRIANGLE saved ground while being allowed to settle, was in tight in traffic nearing the quarter pole, swung out to be three-wide nearing the three-sixteenths pole and went evenly late. ANNA'S IRON MAN vied for the lead with SUMMANUS while racing two-wide and held on fairly well in a good effort. ROCKET RIBBON prompted the pace while racing three-wide and weakened. SUMMANUS vied for the early lead from along the inside and tired. THIRSTY THURSDAY raced in the back of the field, came four-wide into the stretch and failed to threaten.
