BUCK'S FIZZ tracked the leaders two wide entering the first turn, dropped back to trail the compact field in the run down the backside, rallied three wide entering the final turn, and found his best stride in mid stretch to prove best. HIGHLINER stalked the leaders into the backstretch while saving ground along the inside, quickly rushed up three wide to engage the leaders entering the final turn, assumed command three wide midway through the turn, held a clear advantage into the lane, but was no match when overtaken by BUCK'S FIZZ in the late stages. STANFORD NORTH away alertly and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, set a pressured pace from the inside of RICK'S DANCER in the run down the backside, was bumped repeatedly by that rival in the run to the final turn, rallied along the inside through the turn, and into the lane, shifted three wide in mid stretch and finished evenly to garner a share. RICK'S DANCER broke sharply and dueled for the lead from the outside of STANFORD NORTH racing into the first turn, continued to force the issue two wide in the run down the backstretch while repeatedly bumping with his pace rival, rallied two wide approaching the final turn, was quickly overtaken entering the final turn, and had little to offer late. Following the running of this race there was a jockey's claim of foul. The rider aboard STANFORD NORTH lodged a claim of foul against the rider of HIGHLINER for alleged interference in mid stretch. After review the claim of fould was dismissed, and no change was made to the original order of finish.
