RONDELITO away alertly and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, set a pressured pace from the inside of TOUCH THE SUN in the run down the backstretch and through the final turn, and got the better of his pace rival in the closing strides to prove best. TOUCH THE SUN away well and dueled for the lead from the outside of RONDELITO entering the backstretch, continued to force the issue from the outside of that rival in the run down the backside and through the final turn, and closed determinedly two wide in the drive to just miss, while proving easily second best. KRIS'S GOLD broke sharply and stalked the dueling leaders into the backstretch while saving ground at the rail, commenced his bid two wide entering the final turn, and closed three wide in the drive to grab a share. SAILING FORCE drifted out slightly entering the first turn and was forced to steady off heels, raced into a tracking trip one out from the rail in the run down the backside, saved ground into the final turn, but lacked the needed closing response when called upon. GOLDEN REGAL unhurried early while dropping back to trail, mounted a mild bid three wide entering the final turn, but needed more in the late stages.
