FLYING MISS broke sharply and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, set a pressured pace in the run down the backstretch from the inside of DUKE GIRLS, got the better of that rival through the final turn to hold a clear advantage into the lane, and held WEEKENDINDELMAR safely at bay late while drifting three wide in deep stretch. WEEKENDINDELMAR trailed the field into the first turn while holding a stalking trip one out from the rail, shifted three wide and began to advance upon entering the backstretch, rallied two out from the rail entering the final turn, and finished with interest from along the rail in the drive to prove second best. DUKE GIRLS away well and dueled for the lead from the outside of FLYING MISS entering the backstretch, forced the issue two wide in the run to the final turn, struggled to keep pace with that rival through the turn, and needed more late while holding on for a share. STILETTOS ONLY away alertly and tracked the leaders into the backstretch while racing one out from the rail, rallied two wide from the back of the pack entering the final turn, but lacked the needed closing response when called upon.
