Chart notes
HURRICANE LAYLA pressed from outside, dueled around the turn, put TIGER FIRE away entering the lane, asked right handed at the eighth pole and drew off while ridden out to the wire. TIGER FIRE led early under threat from HURRICANE LAYLA, fought on even terms around the bend, yielded to the winner coming into the stretch and stayed on to best the others. JOYFUL MISCHIEF chased in the four path into the turn, spun three wide into the lane, failed to threaten the top pair down the stretch but finished a clear third. BRANDON'S GIRL was forwardly placed two wide into the turn, moved over to the rail inside the five-sixteenths pole, weakened in the drive but saved a minor placing. ROYAL DUSTY stalk two wide leaving the backstretch, tipped to the three path when lacking room early on the bend, moved into the two path briefly then tipped back out three wide with a quarter mile remaining and failed to rally. ARYA'S RIDE raced in range four deep, took the turn five then four wide and faded in the drive. EMPRESS OF GRACE was knocked into inner rival leaving the gate, got shuffled back while already at the tail-end of the field early, raced four then five wide around the bend and failed to menace. GRETA'S GHOST took a bump in the beginning, raced inside EMPRESS OF GRACE at the back of the pack, rounded the bend three then four wide and was never a factor. MIS ALACAR broke in and bumped, raced up close from inside, weakened around the bend and tired down the lane.
