BROTHER O' BRIEN forwardly placed deep around the first turn, dropped off the pace in the middle stages, made progress four then three wide around the far turn, reeled in the top pair in the final furlong and drove clear. UNION WAVE cleared and crossed over quickly, took pressure around the first turn, drew clear from CHIEF JACKSON on the far turn, asked left handed in upper stretch, collared by BROTHER O'BRIEN midstretch, yielded to that rival and stayed on for second. CHIEF JACKSON stalked two wide into the first turn then applied pressure outside UNION WAVE around the bend, lost touch with that rival on the far turn but remained up close in the two path to the stretch, kept within striking distance into the final furlong but flattened late while finishing a clear third. MISCHIEF'S THIRSTY unhurried on the inside, paused behind a rival at the five-eighths pole, continued on the inside into the second bend, tipped out to the three path, moved out further in the lane and improved position. ADIOS NICANOR tracked from the fence early, dropped back in the two path on the far turn and had little left for the stretch run. ABADON broke out and bumped on both sides, settled three then two wide on the first turn, coaxed along into the second bend, asked right handed from the fence and tired. MIDNIGHT METAL bumped leaving the gate, raced up close in the four path on the clubhouse turn, stalked up the backstretch, chased three then four wide on the second bend and tired. SUPERMAZEL broke out and bumped ABADON, drifted from the three path to the five path on the clubhouse turn, was eased around the far turn, pulled up in upper stretch and walked off.
