Chart notes

SHORT STORY LONG had an ideal set up, isolated watching the lead pair down the backside, rallied three wide closing in throughout the turn, pounced four wide at the top of the lane and drew away with authority, proving much the best. FRIENDLY was away sluggishly to trail in the beginning, narrowed the margin on the leaders around the bend, began to pick up rivals at the quarter pole and with a late stretch run easily bested the rest for the runners up share. BLACKHILLSHERRIFF had a tracking role outside after the break, stalked down the backstretch ahead of only the slow starter into the turn, moved up outside through the oval in tandem with the winner at the quarter pole, shifted five wide for the drive and finished up mildly for third in a spread-out compact field. THE DREAM LISTENER broke out bumping the outside rival on the start, quickly seized command on the rail, disposed of the outside foe by midturn, was clinging onto the lead in the two path turning for home, had no resistance when the winner swept past in upper stretch and folded on the rail at the sixteenth pole to garner a minor placing. HARD RELOAD was bumped inside causing the rider to lose its right iron at the start, became rank, rushing up outside down the back straight force the issue up top, backed away abruptly between horses on the turn and cantered home across the wire.
