Chart notes
SUNRISE DRIVE settled on the rail stalking the pace, inched up inside of horses along the backside, was asked left handed to pick up the bit with five sixteenths remaining, closed in two wide turning for home and while staying on the left lead to the finish still grinded away, wearing down the stubborn leader in the last few jumps. HEMLO GOLD broke in on the start, was quite content to sit just outside off the pacesetter in the beginning stages, was then scrubbed on to go after the leader midway on the last turn, bid three wide at the top of the lane, put away the frontrunner at the furlong pole, braced for the closing rivals outside late, put in a solid effort through the stretch but gave way to the seasoned rival nearing the wire. SWAN LAKE veered out on the break, travelled at the rear three wide in the initial bend, could see the group while trailing along the backside, began to pick up runners on the fence with five sixteenths from home, shifted outside gathering more speed splitting challengers at the quarter marker and while four wide down the lane found his best stride late closing in but not in time to threaten the winner. CONFUSING used the rail advantage to take this field into the turn, quickened the wind aided tempo down the backstretch, still rolled along comfortably up top on the last turn, was headed outside in upper stretch, could not hold off closing in rivals and faded in midway down the lane. C C'S KINGDOM had a stalking position with runners on either side early on, continued to find his stride galloping along close to the rear down the back straight, made a brief move four wide outside foes around the final bend, shifted to the five path having a clear lane at the top of the stretch but had no finish to give. CHANCEL had to steadied between rivals to be at the back of the pack on the break, moved up quickly four wide on the outside into the first turn sitting in mid-pack, was alone tracking the top pair down the backside, came under a vigorous ride outside horses at the three eighths pole, regressed around the last bend and had nothing left for the drive.
