Chart notes
ROYAL HUDSON was away alertly, quickly angling to the fence having the front down the backside by a narrow margin, dueled inside another rival for the top spot around the oval, was resilient inside foes on the fence fending of all challengers down the lane and gamely prevailed to just hold for the win at the wire. JMR SPEEDY ESCAPE was hard held having just one runner beaten down the backside but well within range of the dueling leaders, made a sharp move going around foes four wide through the turn, was floated out six wide gathering momentum turning for home, was full of run in the final sixteenth of a mile and just missed with a late surge outside at the finish line. ROYAL QUALITY travelled in mid-pack between horses in the backside, settled inside in the second flight watching the dueling twosome into the turn, edged up with a quarter mile to run, shifted out making room four wide in upper stretch within aim of the leaders and kept trying to the end, finishing up strongly to capture the show award between rivals late. RY PIE angled in from the outer post to chase the leader into the backstretch, bobbed heads vying for the lead outside around the bend, still was in the thick of things with runners on each side in the two path coming up to the stretch drive but needed more late when faded between foes in the last seventy yards to settle on the fringes in the end. RED SNEAKERS was checked mildly between foes to begin, trailing at the start, continued to see horses heels down the backside, offered a brief turn of foot passing a rival outside at the three eighths marker and finished up evenly, managing to pass only another weary one in deep stretch. DISSECTOLOGIST was crowded between runners at the start, was under a deep hold in tight quarters again nearing the five furlong pole while in the three path along the backstretch, moved in to keep a close eye on the lead two outside at the half, continued a three wide journey around the turn but could make little gain outside, was pushed out in the five path between horses at the top of the stretch and had little left for the stretch run. GENDRAGON was nestled on the fence sitting a few lengths behind of the leader along the back straight, backed away taking the short way around the turn, was empty while being allowed to drift out seven wide at the top of the lane and cantered home to the finish line. ADELAIDE COURT was forced in by an outside rival on the break, then had to be steadied in tight behind another runner coming up to the five eighths marker down the backside, clipped heels soon afterwards, dislodging the rider and walked off. STEWARD'S INQUIRY/RIDERS CLAIM OF FOUL #5 DISSECTOLOGIST AGAINST BOTH #7 ROYAL HUDSON AND #8 RY PIE DOWN THE BACKSTRETCH RESULTED IN #8 RY PIE BEING DISQUALIFIED AND SUBSEQUENTLY POSTED UNPLACED FOR INTERFERENCE COMING UP TO THE FIVE FURLONG POLE
