ELUSIVE KNIGHT broke a step slow on the break, was patiently allowed to gather himself trailing the field early on, caught up to the pack, drafting in the third flight on the rail at the half, made a savvy move edging up on the fence midturn, shifted outside off a tiring early leader coming to the quarter pole closing in, darted back the rail for the stretch drive and wore down the leader in deep stretch for the win. RAPTURE BAY was content to track the lone speed outside along the backside, moved in at the half mile marker, seized control comfortably with three furlongs to go, was moving well up top turning for home, stayed on the left lead with foes closing in on each side at the furlong marker and could not fend off the charge inside by the winner in deep stretch. U S ARMY CORPS settled on the rail in midfield, inched up in the two path around the bend, loomed menacingly three wide straightening out for the drive but could only finish up gradually outside to be a clear but non threatening third at the wire. HELL BENT was part of the back group travelling three deep on the outside, offered a mild run at the three furlong pole going three to four wide through the turn and ran on one paced in the four path to settle on the fringes in the end. UNDER SURVEILLANCE stalked between horses in the rear flight down the backside, could not quicken with others around the oval and passed an empty rival at the top of the lane. PROFESORRIDESAGAIN broke out on the start, was loose on the lead along the backside, had no answer when collared outside at the three eighths pole, backed away on the fence around the bend and folded by upper stretch.
