Chart notes
ARMORED GUARD rated kindly, isolated in mid-pack, moved in smartly when nudged to go on at the quarter pole, shifted just off the rail in the two path for the stretch run, took over control at the sixteenth pole between horses and held safely for the win at the finish line. MISS MAXINE stalked near the rear ahead of a couple of rivals, began to lengthen stride, narrowing the margin with five sixteenths from home, angled out widest in the five path with a clear lane in upper stretch and had a strong late rally to best the rest in the end. SEEKING MAGIC broke sharp unopposed up top down the backside, continued to roll along on the lead slowing the tempo down through the turn, was still holding on while on the rail in mid-stretch but needed more late and faded inside with a sixteenth remaining saving the show award. PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE chased the pacesetter while inside a rival down the backside, continued to try to close in on the frontrunner around the turn, dueled for a smaller share of the prize three wide between foes in upper stretch and weakened late to garner a minor role in the end. PERFECT SPARKLE veered in sharply on the start, stalked near the back, ahead of the other poor starter in the early going, shifted out to the three path at the three eighths marker trying to make a move but made little headway around the turn and found her best stride late taking closer order on the group at the finish line. SOUPER DIVA broke out on the start, settled outside a rival watching the loose leader along the back straight, ran evenly outside through the turn in the second flight, shifted to the four path for the drive in the fray for a piece of the prize but wilted between runners in deep stretch. CONTRARY MARY was away slowly on the break, bobbled soon after the start to trail along the backside, was steadied when an inside rival come out at the three-furlong marker and was not persevered with afterwards.
