Chart notes
TIP TOP THOMAS broke out a step at the start, showed the way in hand just off the inside under some pressure from a pair of rivals down the backstretch before shaking them off into the turn, remained on hold and continued just off the inside into upper stretch, got roused with three-sixteenths to go and edged clear under a drive to prevail. SAND DEVIL broke in awkwardly at the start bumping the hind end of JOEY MUSCLES and conceded three to four lengths to the front, chased just off the inside coming under encouragement at the three-eighths, angled four wide into upper stretch, ran on to chase the winner home clear of the rest and along second best. MY MITOLE prompted the pace outside the top pair four wide down the backstretch, got shaken off and chased three wide through the turn coming under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, swung five wide into upper stretch, kept on to preserve the show honors. TURN AND COUNT shied in at the start conceding three lengths to the front when filling the space vacated by SAND DEVIL, chased briefly just off the inside before being angled out to be six paths off the inside down the backstretch, came under prolonged coaxing at the half mile pole and tucked four then three wide through the far turn, continued three wide into upper stretch and improved position through the stretch. GRIFFIN'S WHARF five then four wide in pursuit, came under coaxing at the three-eighths pole, angled five to six wide into upper stretch, tired. JOEY MUSCLES got bumped in the hind end at the start by SAND DEVIL, chased along the inside, paused briefly and was taken hold along the rail at the seven-sixteenths keeping a watchful eye on SAND DEVIL as that rival tucked in to allow the retreating TOGA D'ORO to backtrack, got put to urging at the three-eighths marker, cut the corner into upper stretch and tired. TOGA D'ORO prompted the leader three wide loosely between foes down the backstretch, began to faded at the seven-sixteenths coaxed along, retreated through to the top of the stretch when going six wide, then tired through to the end.
