Chart notes

MIDSUMMER MO had a slim lead along the backside on the fence, was nursed along continuing up top by a narrow margin through the turn, spurted away on the rail turning for home, was getting leg weary in deep stretch with challengers bearing down but just prevailed, hanging on at the wire for the frontrunning score. PRINCESS ANASTASIA was on the outside in the second flight along the back straight, edged up three wide around the oval, dueled four wide outside foes at the top of the stretch, was closing in late between horses and finished up second best in the four-horse photo at the finish line. R CANADIAN APPLE co-trailed on the outside, started to make a move three wide midturn, continued to gather more speed seven wide outside foes at the top of the stretch and with a good, sustained rally almost got to the lead pair at the wire for the top two placings. FLASHINTHESKY was nestled on the rail in the second pairing down the back straight, was roused for more trying to get up to the lead trio around the turn, battled on inside foes in the two path in upper stretch and surged late with four of them across the wire but had to settle on the fringes in the end. TAP MY DESIRE veered into the inside rival first jump out of the gate, was quickly corrected, moved up on the outside to sit mid-division down the backstretch, moved evenly four wide outside foes on the turn, angled to the six path at the top of the lane and finished up with intent narrowing the gap on the leaders in the final furlong. SILENT AND SINFUL prompted the pace along the backstretch, continue to apply pressure hounding outside around the bend, shifted three wide between rivals unable to keep up to the winner turning for home, battled for second money until the sixteenth pole and gave way late. JUST MAGNIFICENT was slammed by the outside runner on the break, stalked ahead of a couple of horses along the backside, saved ground making little impact through the bend and could not play a role on the fence in the stretch running. BELLA CLASSICA co-trailed on the inside down the backside, could see the field throughout the turn, angled to the five path for the stretch run and passed a weary foe in upper stretch. PIONEER MISSION settled on the inside in the middle of the pack, was going the wrong way between horses in the two path with five sixteenth still to go and had nothing left to give at the rear into the stretch and cantered home.
