COFFEE COUNTY settled behind the trio contesting the lead while under a bit of restraint, was turned loose approaching the half, had to wait for room early on the turn, slipped through an opening two wide at the quarter pole, battled with PLAY MO into the lane, put a head in front in mid-stretch and held on determinedly to prevail in a tight finish. PLAY MO gained the lead and the rail on the first turn, dug in under a drive when COFFEE COUNTRY bid at the quarter pole, kept trying all the way to the wire, but had to settle for second best. FORTUITY allowed to settle from the break and kept to the inside, finished willingly clear of the rest while no threat to the top two. WOOD RIVER bumped with GAME AND GORMLEY at the start then trailed early, was still last on the far turn then kept to task through the stretch to improve while never a serious threat. IZZY'S BABY BOY broke well then was between horses in the trio at the front of the pack, loomed a threat late on the turn then went flat in the stretch. GAME AND GORMLEY took a light bump from WOOD RIVER at the start, settled two wide, raced mid-pack through the early stages then made a mild bid through the far turn then faltered in the stretch. MOSQUITO FLEET hustled from the break, went three wide on the first turn the tracked three wide down the backstretch, started to struggle to keep up approaching the five-sixteenths marker and had little to offer in the stretch.
