Chart notes
DOC HIGGINS broke well then dueled inside of a rival through the clubhouse turn, opened up on the field leaving the three furlong pole and held sway under steady handling. INSIGNIS had no early speed and was far back early, made a grinding advance from the five furlong pole to be along for the place. SEEHOSS was forwardly placed from the start, stalked on inside to the far turn, started to rally from the three furlong pole, chased the eventual winner in to the stretch and was passed late for second. APPLEWOOD was a distant trailer through the early stages then ran on late and picked off some tired rivals to improve. THE THIMBLE raced at the back of the pack and in last through most of the race then ran on some in the stretch to improve while never a serious threat. CLASSIC BET lagged far back then made a mild late move three wide to no impact. GOTTA DEAL was unhurried and three wide early, was far behind for the first half-mile, made a mild middle move on the rail but had little to offer in the stretch. TOUCHDOWN JOE raced mid-pack four to five wide throughout and showed little. COASTAL DEFENSE stalked just behind the dueling leaders to the far turn then weakened late on the turn and stopped in the stretch and walked off. WHISKEY AND EASY dueled outside of DOC HIGGINS to the far turn, started to weaken at the three furlong pole then stopped before the stretch, was not persevered with late and allowed to gallop to the finish line and walked off.
