Chart notes
TONI'S INFERNO broke well but ceded the early lead on the first turn, settled mid-pack down the backstretch racing in the two path, was sent down with three furlongs to run then swung five wide into the stretch, closed the margin on the leader under steady handling and got up in the last jump. ZIPPY TOGA was unhurried from the start and taken in hand at the back of the pack, navigated and inside path through the far turn, slipped through an opening along the rail into the stretch, slingshot to the lead and was clear passing the eighth pole but got caught in the last jump by the winner. PARTY AT JAYS hopped at the start and spotted field field a head start, raced far behind the field in last through the first half, regained contact heading into the far turn, circled the field late on the turn, bid six wide into the stretch, produced a grinding finish but steady gain and just got up to claim the third prize. MR. RONNIE hesitated at the start but still vied for the lead into the first turn then was in tight just past the seven furlong pole, made the front end turning down the backstretch and was left alone to dictate the fractions to the far turn, shook off a challenge from LOUSIANA NATIVE then took a clear lead into the stretch, was getting short passing the furlong marker and outfinished in the late stages. LOST DA VINCI was pushed on early to get forward position, backed out of a potential speed duel on the first turn the settled close up not far off the pace, was being coaxed along late on the backstretch to maintain position, kept to the inside on the last turn but could not summon a rally in the stretch. LOUISIANA NATIVE was off a step slow the rushed forward going into the first turn, was close up racing three wide down the backstretch, made a run at MR. RONNIE midway on the far turn but stalled out and had little to offer in the stretch. MAYBE EYE'LL CALL was close up contesting the early lead through the first turn then bolted towards the six furlong chute coming out of the turn, lost a lot of ground then straightened out and got back to a three or four wide tracking position before the turn, started to weaken approaching the quarter pole and was unable to produce anything in the stretch. TAP THE TEQUILA went four wide into the clubhouse turn then tracked to the far turn in mid-pack on the outside, did not respond when asked to go on at the three furlong pole and tired in the stretch.
