Chart notes
ASTROLOGYSPROTEGE was quickest away and cleared off early, kept a comfortable margin through the turn, then drew off in the stretch while keeping clear of the loose horse. SPEIGHTFUL ONE was a distant trailer to the stretch then rallied up the rail to gain the place. HOME VISIT was not asked for speed from the break, settled mid-pack, mild response when asked to pick up the pace leaving the three-eighths pole, produced a grinding finish late to gain third. GRUNT tracked four wide, advanced on the leaders three wide through the turn, bid three wide at the top of the stretch then went flat and was outfinished for a minor award. ELLS chased the pace two wide through the early stages, dropped back before the quarter pole then came up empty in the stretch. JAYS HOLIDAY was outrun early and under a drive before the turn, went three to four wide on the far turn and had little to offer in the stretch. FATHER GOOSE stumbled badly at the start and lost the rider. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE START. NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
