Chart notes
SOPHIE'S PAINTER broke a step slow then took a bump from REGAL TEMPLE a couple of strides out of the gate, then joined HE'S SUPER WICKED on the lead, dueled through the turn, then could not put that stubborn foe away in the stretch, battled determinedly and got the upper hand in in the final strides. HE'S SUPER WICKED sprinted clear from the start, was joined after about a furlong by SOPHIE'S PAINTER, dueled that rival through the turn then staged a spirited battle down the stretch and gave way grudgingly in the final yards. DEWCLAW broke out at the start and made light contact with MINE YOUR BIZ, hustled from the gate then ceded the front end, tracked in the second flight through the turn while keeping to the inside, was under a drive from the quarter pole, found best stride in the final furlong and was gaining rapidly on the leaders but ran out of time. YAKETY YAK away well, raced close up in the second flight three wide into the turn, swung five-wide into the stretch, kept on well under handling but came up short. ITS WILD AGAIN bobbled at the start then was the trailer to the turn, started to run on from the five-sixteenths marker, bid six wide into the stretch, was finishing well then altered course to the inside in mid-stretch and was gaining but never a serious threat. KNIGHT'S GOLD stumbled at the start, recovered quickly but was unable to keep pace early, dropped back to the third flight, chased under a drive through the turn and was under steady urging in the stretch but lacked the needed response, was vetted after unsaddling and given a ride off the track in the equine ambulance. MECKES PRIORITY hustled up after a poor break to be up with the early leaders, came under a ride passing the quarter pole then tired in the stretch. REGAL TEMPLE broke awkwardly, ducked in and leaned on SOPHIE'S PAINTER at the start, then raced in mid-pack down the backstretch then struggled to keep pace on the turn and had nothing to offer in the stretch. MINE YOUR BIZ took a light bump at the start from DEWCLAW, dropped far behind before the turn then was eased up and galloped to the wire when hopelessly behind.
