Chart notes
WHISKEY DRINKER sped to the lead at the start and set the uncontested pace up the backstretch. widened advantage under some mild urging around the turn, saved ground and pulled away to a commanding lead entering the upper stretch, lugged in down the lane and remained well clear under a left handed drive. BLUE MOON RIVER was a step awkward at the start, remained unhurried and settled in the back, hustled along around the far turn, ran on two wide into the lane and got a nose up late to capture place. I BILEVE raced in the second flight mid-way up the backstretch, came under a ride around the far turn, sustained a three wide bid in the stretch run and got nipped for place in final stride. BLAME NELLIE was allowed to settle out of the gate and raced three to four wide into the first turn, raced in the second flight up the backstretch, came under a ride three wide around the final turn, failed to respond under a drive and faded in the lane. COUNCIL'S JAZEL raced in range along the inside mid-way up the backstretch, failed to advance under pressure around the final turn and retreated through the lane. BEACHLEY chased the pacesetter around the first turn and up the backstretch, came up empty late on the far turn, dropped back and jogged in.
