WICKED SAILOR broke well and vied inside of a five-horse early speed battle, emerged from the fray with a slight lead, then responded when set down in upper stretch, fended off a challenge by CAJUN CATTITUDE in upper stretch, and GETOUTOFDAWAY in the final sixteenths to prevail in a solid effort. GETOUTOFDAWAY started off well behind the early pace battle, then made an aggressive move through the turn to gain contention, checked briefly off heels turning into the stretch, tipped to the outside, and finished up well under steady urging but could not get past the winner. CAJUN CATTITUDE tracked just behind the pace battle but stayed wide through the turn, made a strong move on the turn to bid for the lead five wide at the quarter pole, came into the stretch in a duel with WICKED SAILOR, could not get past that one and was outfinished in the final yards. GOLDEN BARCENTS was hustled from the break and was up with the pace battle before pulling pack near the half-mile pole, remained close up through the turn, then started to rally but was indecisive whether to go inside or outside, lost some momentum and lacked a rally once clear. GOLDZONE disputed the early pace five wide, bid for the lead under a drive passing the quarter pole then flattened out in mid-stretch. SIMONEAUX STORM raced four deep in the early pace battle, weakened approaching the quarter pole, tried to re-rally four wide in the stretch but could not produce the needed response. DOUBLE GEM broke with the early leaders, then dropped back, struggled to keep pace on the turn, then chased the field to the finish. GORMLEY'S QUEEN contested the early pace three deep, dropped out passing the five-sixteenths marker, then had nothing left for the stretch run. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
