Chart notes
RONDELITO away well and raced to the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, set a pressured pace from the inside of MOUNT DOOM in the run down the backside and into the final turn, and inched clear late to prevail. MOUNT DOOM broke sharply and forced the issue from the outside of RONDELITO entering the backside, rallied two wide from between rivals through the final turn, and closed willingly three wide in the drive to prove clearly second best. AUTOBAHN ACE away well and tracked the dueling leaders into the backstretch while racing just out from the rail, collared the pacesetters three wide entering the final turn, continued that battle into the lane, but was unable to match strides with the top pair late in a solid effort. ACCIDENTAL GENIUS unhurried early while dropping back to trail, launched his bid from along the inside entering the final turn, and found his best stride late when closing from along the rail in deep stretch. MAKENA'S JOY stalked the leaders into the backstretch while saving ground at the rail, rallied along the inside entering the final turn, but lacked the needed closing response late when called upon. CREATIVE UNION was pinched between rivals and forced to take up in the opening strides, raced into the stalking trip two out from the rail in the run down the backside, rallied three wide entering the final turn, but was outfinished over the final furlong.
