Chart notes
SHERIF ALI had a stalking trip ahead of only one runner early down the backside, mover up on the rail to sit in midfield by the half, kept pace while inside a rival on the oval, shifted out to three path at the top of the lane, angled back finding another gear when urged on the rail at the eighth pole and edged away for the win in the final seventy yards. RY PIE improved along the backstretch to sit inside on the rail in the second flight through the turn, shifted out three wide finding a seam in upper stretch, fought on gamely to the wire but could manage only to be second best on this day. YOUR VALENTINO had a slim advantage on the fence down the backside, continued up top while shadowed outside around the turn, spurted away at the furlong pole but could not find more late and faded between rivals nearing the wire to be a clear third in the end. COLONEL MUSTARD was void of early speed, trailing in the beginning, started to get into gear outside foes in midturn, angled six wide turning for home, found his best stride late and closed in for a minor role in deep stretch. POSTURING had a good spot alone watching the contesting pair down the backside, tracked in the second flight outside on the turn, was roused for more at the quarter pole closing in slightly on the embattled duo, shifted to the five path for the stretch run but could only finish up one paced to the wire. DRUM ROLL PLEASE prompted the paced in the early stages, angled to the four path in the hunt between horses at the top of the lane, could not continue on late with others making a rally and weakened between horses by the furlong marker. MAXIMUS MAGIC broke with the field but dropped back while three deep going down the backside, could see the field by the three eighths pole, lost touch with rivals running around the bend and cantered down the lane to the finish line.
