Chart notes
MOR SPRING SPIRIT sped off to a clear lead down the backside, dug-in ro maintain the advantage when challenged turning for home, remained clear until deep stretch and just held off the closing stablemate at the line. LUCCI was well placed tracking the pace from the fence through the turn, angled to the clear turning for home, made a steady advance in the lane and surged late to just miss. WHERE YOU WAS stalked the pacesetter to the turn, narrowed the gap to challenge at the quarter pole, failed to get passed and kept-on through the lane. SAN COSTANTINO tracked the leaders down the backside, rallied five wide on the turn to be prominent turning for home and could not match the top trio in the lane. CALL THE BALL chased the leaders through the turn, angled seven wide for the drive and failed to gain. NEEDED failed to menace. WOODCHUCK trailed throughout as a non-factor.
