Chart notes
PICO D'ORO tucked in behind the pace through the clubhouse turn, pulled up to the leaders down the backstretch to loom three wide heading into the far turn, gained the advantage passing the quarter pole then wandered a bid in the stretch but held on to prevail. RANCH WATER stalked ONASA to the far turn, went on through the turn with PICO D'ORO putting the first named in a bit tight, dueled gamely into the stretch and gave way grudingly in the final yards. SEVEN CHANNELS hustled from the break but was unable to contest the early lead, then settled mid-pack along the rail, came under a ride with three furlongs to run and finished with good energy, was closing the margin late but ran out of time. ONASA broke well, made the front then led the field through moderate fractions with several rivals in close attendance, took up near the head of the far turn when RANCH WAITER came over, lost some momentum but was able to re-gather and finish evenly. CLARESTOWN fractious in the gate, was outpaced from the start, advanced a bit into the far turn, then chased willingly in the late stages. CHAOSMOS settled inside near the back, then moved to the outside on the far turn, and lacked a finish. DREWMAZING chased close up to the far turn then faded in the stretch. RIVER RAFT dropped to last early and was unable to improve, passed a tired one late. WOOD RIVER went three wide through the first turn, advanced into contention down the backstretch, came under a ride before the stretch and was outfinished in the late stages. THE JOCKEY ON #1 ONASA LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST #7 RANCH WATER ALLEGING INTERFERENCE GOING INTO THE FAR TURN.
