Chart notes
BASILE broke best and went to the front with a trio of rivals in close pursuit, repelled a bid from GROUND CONTROL in upper stretch, then held on determinedly as that rival made one last bid near the finish and held on. GROUND CONTROL pressed the pace three wide to the turn, went after BASILE approaching the five-sixteenths marker, loomed in upper stretch, kept trying to the wire but came up short. PLUM WINE was allowed to settle well behind the field down the backstretch, launched a bid from the seven-sixteenths marker, came three wide into the stretch, and ran on some to gain the third prize. WELL ACCUSTOMED pressed inside to the turn, was boxed in early on that turn then lacked a rally once clear. DREAMY DEAL pressed the pace between horses to the turn, weakened midway through the turn and had little to offer late. STEPHANIE'S MARIA chased through the early stages, unable to keep pace with the main pack, was outrun further through the turn while saving ground and had nothing to offer for the stretch run.
