Chart notes
MERONEY bumped at the start into OUR BODIE, then continued to lean on that foe for a few strides, quickly made the front end with FORTY THREE CENTS pressing to the outside, dueled inside of that rival to mid-stretch, gained the advantage and was all-out to hold off a late bid from HOUSEQUAKE in the final yards. HOUSEQUAKE hustled into the early mix then settled in a tracking position along the rail, chased the dueling leaders through the turn while under a drive, tipped three wide for the stretch run, was put to strong urging, closed the margin on the leader in the final furlong and just missed. FORTY THREE CENTS broke well, then pressed MERONEY through the early stages, came into the stretch even up with that rival, battled gamely to mid-stretch, and gave way grudingly in the final sixteenth. METALLIC MISCHIEF was last away and always behind to the turn, kept to the inside, steadied at the top of the stretch, then managed to outfinish the trailing group but could not contend for a minor award. ALLSTARHOLLYWOOD raced mid-pack two to three deep and lacked a late response. TOMBIGBEE tracked three wide down the backstretch then came up empty in the stretch. OUR BODIE broke out and mutually bumped with MERONEY, hustled but was not able to contest the pace, dropped back to last before the turn and struggled to keep up late. METAIRIE veered out at the start, was outrun from the break, was coaxed along from the half-mile pole but unable to make any headway and tired in the stretch.
