KYALAM away alertly and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the stretch the first time, continued to force the issue from the inside of FORCED TO RUN in the run down the backstretch, got the better of his pace rival leaving the final turn, and was all out to fend off a late surge by COUNTER CAT to prevail. COUNTER CAT stalked the dueling leaders through the stretch the first time while saving ground at the rail, continued from along the inside while gaining a tracking trip in the run to the final turn, rallied along the rail through the final turn while awaiting room, shifted three wide for the drive and closed determinedly to prove clearly second best. KRIS'S GOLD unhurried early while trailing the field into the stretch the first time, began to advance from along the rail midway down the backside, rallied three wide entering the final turn, and closed from along the inside in the lane to get up for a share. GIMLET broke sharply and stalked the dueling leaders through the stretch the first time while racing two out from the rail, raced into a tracking trip three wide in the run down the backside, rallied three wide through the final turn, but lacked the needed closing response when called upon. GOLDEN REGAL settled well off the contested early pace while racing one out from the rail entering the stretch the first time, maintained his position in the run down the backstretch, rallied four out from the rail through the final turn, but lacked the needed closing response while finishing four wide in the lane. FORCED TO RUN away well and dueled for the lead from the outside of KYALAM through the stretch the first time, continued to force the issue two wide in the run to the final turn, was unable to match strides with that rival leaving the turn, and weakened late.
