Chart notes
EL DINERO away well, settled behind the pace inside, launched a bid from the three-furlong pole, then moved to challenge for the lead while still in hand, responded when set down in the stretch then held clear through the late stages. CLEAR AS A BELE off a step slow, rushed up into the pace mix then steadied off heels at the half-mile pole, bided time through the turn on the rail then was stuck behind horses in upper stretch, forced a clear path at the furlong marker and finished up well to gain the place. THE DONEGAL CLAN was always close up, made a run at the leader approaching the quarter pole, had a little trouble keeping a straight course in upper stretch and was kept to task down the lane but could not make up the needed ground. EMERALD EXPRESS settled in the middle of the pack, was mildly gaining in deep stretch under heavy pressure but could not find another gear when needed. MACHINE GUN MAN hustled from the break and gained the early advantage, held clear by about a length through the turn, then battled back when confronted by challengers at the quarter pole, then tired in mid-stretch. LIKE THIS tracked close up three wide, started to struggle to keep pace on the turn then tired in the stretch. STRONG EAGLE broke outward into a rival and steadied at the start, , trailed the field down the backstretch, then tried to rally five wide into the lane and faltered early.
