Chart notes
ARTEMUS GORDON saved ground tracking the pace, moved up three-wide nearing the quarter pole, took the lead entering the stretch and quickly drew clear. RULER OF ANGELS was reserved off the pace, rallied four-wide the final quarter and finished strongly. HICKORY WIND prompted ANNA'S IRON MAN from along the outside, continued on well during the drive for third then was unsaddled following the race and was transported off the track via the equine ambulance. ANNA'S IRON MAN vied for the lead from along the inside with HICKORY WIND and weakened during the drive. COASTAL WATERS was unhurried early, came five-wide into the stretch and failed to seriously threaten. WESTPHAL saved ground while being allowed to settle, came three-wide into the stretch but lacked a rally. THE GOLDEN EGG was forwardly placed early while racing three-wide and tired.
