Chart notes
MISCHELOF (CHI) was nicely rated sitting just off the early pace, let out a notch and moved up to challenge for the lead mid-way around the turn, could not move on with STEEL LINK at the head of the lane, but remained in striking distance, dug in gamely two wide in final stages and got up on the wire. STEEL LINK prompted the early pace, vied around the turn, shook free at the head of the lane, fought on gamely holding a slim lead and got denied in final strides. SUCCESSION was unhurried and raced in the back, saved ground around the turn, came two wide into the upper stretch, shifted wider for a clear path, finished full of run and captured show. QUARTER RAT raced in range along the inside, raced behind a wall of pursuers and steadied mid-way around the turn, shifted out, launched a rebid at the head of the lane, advanced into show then lost position in final stride. SANTA CRUISER tracked the top pair up the backstretch, vied around the turn, ran on to mid-stretch then gave way. RIVZONAROLL set the pace in the opening quarter, challenged for the lead with three furlongs left to run, came up empty late on the turn and continued to tire in the drive.
