BARNEY GOOGLE settled towards the back of the pack entering the stretch the first time while racing one out from the rail, maintained his position in the run down the backside while closing in on the leaders, launched his bid four wide entering the final turn, and closed steadily five wide in the lane to get up in the closing strides. SOMTHING ELUSIVE broke sharply and tracked the leader through the stretch the first time while racing two out from the rail, held his position in the run down the backstretch, rallied four wide entering the final turn, and closed gamely from between rivals in deep stretch to just miss. THERE GOES MY HERO stalked the leader through the stretch the first time while saving ground at the rail, rallied along the inside entering the final turn, slipped through at the rail leaving the turn to assume command, and just failed to last. RICK'S DANCER away alertly and raced to the lead from along the rail while under a snug hold through the stretch the first time, battled for the lead from the inside of PADDY D'ORO in the run down the backside, continued to battle with that foe through the final turn while leaving the rail open, angled back in while putting JOCK TALK in tight leaving the turn, and finished evenly from along the rail in the drive. PADDY D'ORO away well and tracked the pacesetter from along the rail through the stretch first time, forced the issue while being carried three wide in the run down the backside and through the final turn, but was outfinished in the late going. JOCK TALK settled towards the back of the pack while saving ground at the rail through the stretch the first time, maintained his position while gaining on the leaders in the run to the final turn, rallied smartly from along the rail through the final turn, steadied sharply when RICK'S DANCER dropped to the rail taking his path leaving the turn, and was unable to regain his momentum after that. Following the running of this race there was a jockey's claim of foul. the rider of JOCK TALK lodged a claim of foul against the rider of RICK'S DANCER for alleged interference leaving the final turn.
